Lead Generation - Define Phase
Lead Generation - Define Phase
Generating quality inbound leads is one of the key value Gore Connect contributes to PSD's success. The key to a solid inbound lead generation strategy starts with identifying our core challenges and developing a scalable growth use case that is aligned across all relevant stakeholders. The following steps will help us to achieve that.
Aligning business requirements and setting SMART objectives
The best organisations break working silos and look at organization challenges and priorities as a team. They engage one another to align on a shared purpose. Surveys are a useful tool to get everyone's input in a cost-effective and efficient manner. Done right, surveys can reduce investment and other risk; generate insights about functions, customers and markets. Done poorly, they can derail our organisation customer experience strategy. We need a standardised survey design framework to ensure we achieve the right process and output.
The survey design process starts from the formulation of the survey goals and end at the interpretation of the survey results.
5 steps to designing a business requirements survey:
Define the goals of the survey
Identify the participants
Craft the survey questions
Conduct the survey
Communicate the results
Survey goals state what you want to learn, so we can craft the right questions to ask. It also help us understand who can answer these questions.
Survey response rates typically depend on the design of the survey itself. We recommend identifying 3-4 times the number of participants actually required.
How the survey is structured greatly affects the quality of response received. A solid survey design typically includes these few segments:
Introduction: Set survey expectations and drum up support from respective personnel
Personal information: Identify their individual and work challenges
Leads Maturity Assessment: Multiple choice questions, rating questions and open-ended questions
Digital platforms: Solutions currently adopted by the different departments for digital marketing
Closing: Acknowledge their effort to complete this survey, and what to expect next
Rule of thumb for question design, keep it short and simple.
Surveys can be implemented through a variety of online tools. Remember to set a timeframe for team members to complete the survey. This ensures efficiencies and effectiveness of our efforts. Here are some recommended tools to help you distribute and collect responses for our survey:
Involve Me - https://www.involve.me
Google Forms - https://www.google.com/forms
Survey Monkey - https://www.surveymonkey.com
Any of the above tools allow us to see the challenges/priorities of our team members in a single view. The next step is to communicate the results to the working team through a team meeting in a simple and direct manner. Below is a summary chart extracted from the survey done for Gore Connect 1.5 :
A glance at the chart above shows that the top collective priority and challenge for Gore Connect 1.5 initiative is to grow addressable market share. This provides us with a direction on where to concentrate our lead generation efforts on. With this outcome, the next step is to set SMART objectives.
SMART objectives bring clarity, structure and measurability, turning a vague aim into something much more realistic. SMART is an acronym which stands for:
Specific: What exactly do you want to achieve?
Measurable: How will you identify that you have achieved your goal?
Achievable: Is your goal really attainable?
Relevant: Does it align with where you want to be?
Time-bound (or timely): When will you deliver your goal, and what are the key milestones?
